LEARNING IN 21ST CENTURY
Living in 21st century has some consequences. Since the technology
has developed so fast our lives got more sophisticated. From shoping to training every aspect of our lives has
changed.
So that learning in 21st century has
nothing like learning in 16th century. Reaching information and
sharing information are so easy these days. We are able to learn anything we
are curious about in anytime and at anywhere. This convenience impacts the
productivity and activeness of people. Since we consume the information quickly
we produce more. Thus, in the end of this circle there occurs an interaction.
Depend on these
vast changes language education has changed too. In 21st century
there are more expectations from student than teacher. Because teachers are not
the main source of information anymore their role switched from domination to
guide. Students should be more active and creative in the class. They should
practice the information that they learn. Also supporting the lesson with the
technology is essential.
What do you think
about these changes in learning? Would you have the passive role or the active
role in the learning environment?
